Technology can have a profound impact in the fight against corruption. In December, Transparency International – Kenya (TI-K) in conjunction with Kenya Red Cross and Random Hacks of Kindness (RHoK) will be organizing a Hackathon in cooperation with several TI S and select National Chapters from Sub-Saharan Africa region. The aim is to promote and integrate innovative and sustainable Information and Communications Technology (ICT) solutions in the fight against corruption.
A Hackathon is an event in which computer programmers and others in the field of software development, like graphic designers, interface designers and project managers, collaborate intensively on software-related projects together with subject matter experts. During 24-hour-events programmers will develop open-source prototypes with the goal of creating technological tools which could be potentially used in our work.
